Living with food allergies or food sensitivities can make eating feel stressful and confusing. Whether you’ve recently received a diagnosis, suspect certain foods are contributing to your symptoms, or are navigating an elimination diet, you don’t have to figure it out alone.
At The Nourished Method, our registered dietitians provide personalized, evidence-based nutrition counseling to help you identify safe, nourishing foods while ensuring your diet remains balanced, enjoyable, and nutritionally complete.
Most of our clients pay $0 with insurance. We offer virtual appointments nationwide and in-person visits in Franklin and Nashville, Tennessee.
Although they’re often used interchangeably, food allergies and food sensitivities are different conditions.
Food allergies involve an immune system response and can cause symptoms ranging from hives and swelling to life-threatening anaphylaxis. Common food allergens include peanuts, tree nuts, milk, eggs, wheat, soy, fish, shellfish, and sesame.
Food sensitivities (sometimes called food intolerances) do not involve the same immune response but can still cause uncomfortable symptoms such as bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, headaches, fatigue, or skin concerns. Examples include lactose intolerance, certain carbohydrate intolerances, or sensitivities to specific foods.
Our role is to help you navigate these conditions safely while maintaining a balanced, varied diet.
We support teens and adults who are managing:

Unless medically necessary, we don’t recommend unnecessarily restrictive diets. Instead, we help you identify what truly works for your body while preserving as much dietary variety as possible.
Every nutrition plan is tailored to your symptoms, diagnosis, medical history, and lifestyle.
Depending on your needs, we may focus on:
We'll ensure your eating pattern continues to provide the nutrients your body needs, even if certain foods must be avoided.
If your physician recommends an elimination diet, we'll help you complete it safely, minimize unnecessary restrictions, and guide you through the reintroduction process when appropriate.
Learn how to identify hidden ingredients, understand allergen labeling, and confidently shop for safe foods.
We'll help you create simple, satisfying meals that work for your household, schedule, and dietary needs.
Eating away from home doesn't have to be overwhelming. We'll discuss practical strategies for restaurants, vacations, school, work, and social events.
